There are a number of ways to achieve better mental health and addiction services. Te Pou has a role in supporting service improvement through the use of evidence based practice, outcomes information and building the knowledge and skills of the workforce.
We work with organisations to understand their current priorities and jointly plan how Te Pou’s activities might help address these issues. This may be through current Te Pou initiatives or by tailoring these to meet the organisation's specific needs.
Te Pou’s involvement with a service ranges from a simple approach using targeted activities, through to a partnership approach where we have an active part in ongoing service improvement activities. The level of involvement will be part of an agreement between Te Pou and the organisation.
Working in this way helps identify the outcomes of any initiatives undertaken and how they impact on improving services for service users.
