Disability Workforce Development Update: September 2011

Between January 2010 and September 2011, Disability Workforce Development has approved funding for over 8,200 individuals on behalf of the Ministry of Health. Overall, 34 per cent of individuals have taken part in formal qualifications (such as the National Certificate in Community Support), and 42 per cent non-NZQA short courses (such as first aid, manual handling, health and safety).
In total, 37 per cent of funding has been allocated to leadership development and 30 per cent to consumer leadership development.
