Both the service development plan from the Ministry of Health and Blueprint II signal the increasing importance of using outcomes information. This column focuses on using information at the clinician-service user and multidisciplinary team levels.
One of Te Pou’s roles is to implement government and ministry policy with regards to outcomes and information.
What is an outcome worth having in mental health and who should decide what it is? Stupid question you may well say. However, it seems to me this question goes to the heart of what is important in our mental health services.
