Our Communication with You
Part of Te Pou's brief is to communicate electronically with the mental health sector. It does this is a number of ways. In all its communications with the public, Te Pou seeks to be fully compliant with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.

• Unsubscribe option is on every mail out
• Informs subscribers about research, information and workforce
activities across the mental health sector
Nursing e-newsletter
• Free quarterly electronic mail sent out to subscribers
• Unsubscribe option is on every mail out
• Informs subscribers about mental health nursing across the sector
Sector database
• Information emails are sent to people on our sector database on an "as required" basis
• Contacts and their details have been collated from many and various sources
• Before the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act came into law, every person on the database was given the opportunity to opt out
• Every email sent subsequently gives the receiver the opportunity to opt out of receiving further emails sent from this database
What happens to your personal details
Your subscription details will only be used for the purposes of populating, maintaining and using the specific database you signed up to, eg the e-bulletin, nursing e-newsletter. Your details will only be added to a database with your authority.
The information we have collected about you and store on our customer relationship management database (referred to in most of our communications as our sector database) is handled as described below:

• Text messages may be sent by Te Pou staff members to their contacts and colleagues
• Te Pou staff are trained in the requirements of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act and know not to use any SMS (text) messages for commercial purposes unless previously requested by the recipient
Business cards
When you give your business card to a member of Te Pou staff, we consider that to be consent to Te Pou using your personal contact details for the purposes of communicating with you.
