International

  • Canadian Coalition for Seniors' Mental Health is a research and knowledge exchange network with searchable abstracts relating to the mental wellbeing of senior people. 
  • Directory of Open Access Journals provides links to a variety of free-access full text, quality controlled research journals, including 83 psychology journals and 103 public health journals.
  • Involve Database includes details of published and unpublished health and social care research projects that actively involve members of the public as partners in the research process.
  • Mental Health Care from The Institute of Psychiatry, King's College, posts information on the latest research conducted in the mental health sector (updated weekly). Site is currently down. 
  • National Library for Health has details and abstracts of evidence based reviews, UK guidelines and protocols, topic specialist libraries, books, journals and healthcare databases, images and web resources.
  • SAMHSAs National Registry of Evidence Based Programs and Practices (NREPP) is a searchable database of mental health and substance abuse interventions that have been reviewed and rated by independent reviewers.
  • Social Care Online provides summary information and research on all aspects of social care including mental health. Some links provide access to full-text reports.
  • The Cochrane Library includes details of evidence from Cochrane and other systematic reviews, clinical trials, and more; these cover all aspects of health, including mental health.
  • The Evidence for Policy and Practice Information and Co-ordinating  Centre has a number of databases which include bibliographies of research relating to health promotion.
  • Turning research into practice includes free access to a number of research databases that provide information allowing users to rapidly identify the highest quality clinical evidence for clinical practice. Visitors must register to access databases.

  • CommunityNet Aotearoa provides guidelines and information about matters such as research, evaluation and funding for beginners to advanced knowledge levels. The links page includes many international websites with free evaluation resources.

International

Organisational learning

  • Social Care Institute for Excellence provides information designed to allow organisations to assess whether they are a learning organisation, that is, an organisation that uses evidence-based practice and informed decision-making.

Online learning programes

  • business.govt.nz has online training and resources to develop effective management practices. Topics include developing and managing staff, harnessing different thinking styles and fostering innovation.
