Outcomes training - train the trainer programme
Te Pou has changed the four-day MH-SMART train the trainer programme. The new programme - Outcome training: Train the trainer - consists of a two-day foundational training course, a modular one-day specific outcome measure training course, and a one-day refresher training course. From February 2011 trainers will need a certificate from the programme to train others.
More detail is available in the outcomes training model and guide, available for download in PDF format below.

Foundational outcome training - for trainers
This foundational training aims to equip trainers with a good understanding of the rationale and purpose of outcome measurement, the underlying philosophy of recovery, the skills of engagement and feeding back information relevant to outcome measurement. This training package will indicate the content for trainers to train their own clinical staff. It is a pre-requisite to have completed this two-day training package in order to train others in specific outcome measures.

This training will also provide ongoing tips for becoming a good trainer and ensure current certification is maintained.
