Background
Since July 2004, site coordinators in DHB provider arms have been planning, preparing and implementing the MH-SMART initiative with their local hospital services and staff.
This has involved:
- information workshops and presentations to staff
- organisation and planning of IT system development
- coordination of training and resources
- ongoing support for staff and trainers during implementation
- liaison with the national MH-SMART team.
DHBs were initially working towards implementing and reporting outcomes information to the Ministry of Health by 1 July 2006. However, due to the implementation of the PRIMHD project, timeframes have since been lengthened to 1 July 2008.
The site coordinator role has been extended to include the implementation of the PRIMHD project within their DHBs.
