Sensory modulation workshop
Bring Sensory Modulation into Your Clinical Practice
Te Pou, in association with AUT’s School of Occupational Science and Therapy, is offering two one-day workshops in Auckland and Christchurch, on 12 and 13 October, respectively.
The workshops will be led by US-based Tina Champagne, a leading exponent of teaching clients to improve participation in meaningful life activities by improving how they modulate sensory experience. You will learn about sensory processing theory, creating and using sensory ‘diets’, sensory tools, sensory rooms and additional strategies to help service users regulate feelings and emotions.
This course will also explore the inter-relatedness between sensory modulation, trauma-informed care and reducing seclusion and restraint practices.
These workshops are usually priced at $250 for the day but, for New Zealand participants, the course is free although registration is essential and limited to the first 50 participants for each workshop.
Update: both workshops are now full.
