Training update
MH-SMART training update
Te Pou delivered a four-day train-the-trainers course in Palmerston North on 1-4 September facilitated by Mark Smith, Richard Woodcock, Sue Rostron and Helen Mitchell- Shand. Hosted by Mid-Central Health the training was well-attended with participants from Auckland, Counties-Manakau, Southland and Mid-Central DHBs.

Evaluation forms from the course indicate strong approval for the training, and the collated evaluation report will be made available on the Trainers Forum in due course.
This Palmerston North course was also notable for being last of the four-day MH-SMART train-the-trainers sessions. Te Pou is currently working with the sector on developing a new and revised MH-SMART training programme which will be available later next year in the form of a new modular course. Watch this space for details as they become available!
Te Pou is presently working on competencies for mental health information, using the Let’s get real framework, to underpin the new MH-SMART training. These will be made available to the sector upon completion.
Southland/Otago training update
The Te Pou training in Southland was well-attended. Te Pou will make available the evaluations from the training days on the trainers' forum. The following photograph shows the participants from the two-day training.
