Lead your future, inspire and develop New Zealand’s disability support workforce!

Te Pou is New Zealand's National Centre of Mental Health Research, Information and Workforce Development.

Te Pou has been contracted by the Ministry of Health to develop, implement and administer a new National Training Coordination Service. This service will provide independent training coordination services and administration of training grants for the disability support workforce nationwide.

The disability workforce lead will establish the team and structure for the effective implementation of the national disability training coordination service. This lead role is critical to ensuring training is responsive to regional requirements and aligned with national disability workforce development strategy and associated documents.  

You will provide leadership and strategic direction to the Disability Regional Workforce Team. Your role is to ensure you and the team deliver an effective and efficient service. You will assist Te Pou to develop a broader organisational focus that will include disability workforce and service development.

Ideally you will have three to five years’ experience in a lead disability role and a tertiary qualification in a related field. You will have proven experience in meeting project deliverables and a demonstrated understanding of inspired leadership in the disability sector.

You will have a proven ability to establish relationships with stakeholders and work as part of a team, plus you’ll bring your foresight, vibrancy, compassion and resiliency to the role.
