Regional workforce facilitator, Disability Support Services

Te Pou is New Zealand's National Centre of Mental Health Research, Information and Workforce Development.
Te Pou has been contracted by the Disability Support Services Group within the Ministry of Health, National Health Board – Business Unit, to develop, implement and administer a new National Training Coordination (NTC) Service. This service will provide independent training coordination services and administration of training grants for the disability support workforce nationwide. The overall aim of the NTC will be to contribute positively to the wellbeing of people with disabilities by supporting workforce development for frontline staff.

The three regional workforce facilitators – disability will form part of the national team to effectively implement the national training coordination service. These roles are critical to ensuring training is responsive to regional requirements and aligned with the national disability workforce development strategy and associated documents.
You will work with the NTC lead to deliver an effective and efficient national service. You will assist Te Pou to develop a broader organisational focus that will include disability workforce and service development as part of its portfolio.
Ideally you will have three to five years’ experience in a disability role and a tertiary qualification in a related field. You will have proven ability to positively communicate and influence across a range of levels, organisations and sector groups, and will hold a demonstrated understanding of workforce matters within the disability sector in New Zealand.
You will have a proven ability to establish relationships with stakeholders and work as part of a team, plus you’ll bring your foresight, vibrancy, compassion and resiliency to the role.
