Te Pou to administer National Training Coordination Service (NTC), Disability Support
Te Pou has been contracted by the Disability Support Services Group within the Ministry of Health, National Health Board – Business Unit, to develop and deliver a new National Training Coordination Service. The service has been established to assist in the implementation of the Disability Support Services Workforce Action Plan (MOH 2009). You can read the full announcement here.
Disability Support Services - recruitment underway
Te Pou has now begun recruitment for new positions in disability support. We are looking for a disability workforce lead and three regional workforce facilitators based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Pacific Health Workforce Awards
Le Va is administering the Pacific Health Workforce Awards, which provide funding for Pacific people studying across all areas of health. West Coast PHO mental health and addiction activity profiled
This month the primary mental health website is profiling the mental health and addiction service being delivered by West Coast PHO. Find out how this service is addressing the unique needs of their population and how they are overcoming some of the challenges of delivering primary mental health and addiction services in a beautiful, yet geographically large and isolated, part of New Zealand.
Understanding Let's get real
We've added a new section to the Let's get real website to help you better understand and work with the framework. The Understanding Let's get real section answers some commonly asked questions we've heard when we're out and about in the sector. We are also featuring people and organisations who are implementing Let's get real - more case studies will be added over time.
Information utility training for clinical leaders
Te Pou is offering one day training sessions to help clinical leaders understand mental health information. The sessions will be offered in Auckland on 24 March, and Hamilton on 28 April. Find out more and download the registration form.
Sensory modulation training
Following up on demand generated by Dr Tina Champagne's October 2009 workshop on Sensory Modulation and Trauma Informed Care, Te Pou will offer a three-day intensive training course in this approach from 10-12 March 2010. Find out more and download the registration form.
Additional funding assistance has been announced for service users and family members wishing to attend IIMHL in Ireland in May 2010. This funding is provided through an Irish organisation. More details regarding the additional funding are available on the IIMHL 2010 pages. This funding is additional to Te Pou's IIMHL scholarships which have now closed.
