Disability sector grant funding

Disability Workforce Development administers grant funding to promote sector access to training and leadership development opportunities. All grant funding is guided by the Ministry of Health’s criteria for selection and priorities for funding.

An overriding principle for all grants is to deliver the best learning outcomes, within current funding, for the disability workforce funded by the Ministry of Health.

Training grants

Training grants are available to assist employers with costs arising from their employee's participation in a Ministry of Health approved national certificate or diploma. Find out about the criteria and how to apply.

Open round training grants

The training grant open round can assist disability support service employers with costs arising from training which supports the development of frontline disability services staff and directly benefits consumers. Applications for open round training grants close on 8 June 2012.

Leadership development grants

Leadership development grants are available to assist organisations with costs arising from their participation in development programmes. Applications for the second half of the 2012 academic year close on 11 May 2012.

Consumer leadership development grants

The consumer leadership development grant provides funding for development opportunities for disabled people and the organisations sponsoring them. Applications for the second half of  the 2012 academic year close on 11 May 2012.

Consumer conference attendance sponsorship

Sponsorship to attend a disability related conference in New Zealand may be available from time-to-time for a disabled person or family/whanau member.
