Application form frequently asked questions

Q1. When are the closing dates for the applications?

  • Initial application for eligibility must be received no later than Tuesday 30 April 2013
  • Reimbursement One Receipts must be received no later than Friday 19 July 2013
  • Reimbursement Two Receipts must be received no later than Friday 6 December 2013.

Q2. Where can I find the application forms?

Application forms are now available online to download and print. We will also be sending a hard copy to all Skills Matter funded students before the end of February 2013.

Q3. What if my DHB/employer is funding my travel and accommodation?

All trainees must complete the initial eligibility application. If employers would like to seek reimbursement of employees’ travel costs, they must also complete the Travel and Accommodation Assistance Grant: Criteria and application for reimbursement of Mental Health & Addiction Services form available to download here. Employers must provide a list of students they will be funding before the closing date of 30 April 2013.

Q4. When will I be advised if my application is successful or not?

Applicants will be advised of the outcome within three weeks after the closing date. This includes information about the exact grant amount that trainees will be allocated. (Prior to 30 April you can see grant estimates in a table on the travel and accommodation homepage).

Q5. When will payments be made?

For the 2013 round Skills Matter will make payments directly into trainees’ bank accounts in two instalments:

  • Payment 1 – by mid August 2013
  • Payment 2 – before Christmas 2013
