Amanuel Berhane

Evaluator

As an Evaluator, my role involves scoping evaluations, collecting, and analysing data. I also interpret data and write evaluation reports to support mental health, addiction, and disability programmes/projects across Te Pou and Blueprint for Learning.

Before joining Te Pou, I worked for a disability advocacy organisation as a policy and projects advisor, mostly involved in writing submissions on human rights issues. I have also worked for a refugee organisation, researching issues that prevent refugee communities from reaching their potentials. Back in Eritrea, I worked for the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare where I evaluated projects designed to lift the socio-economic conditions of disadvantaged people.

As part of my Master’s degree, I prepared a thesis using econometric analysis on a research topic titled “The impact of official development assistance (ODA) on the human development index (HDI) in Sub-Saharan African countries.

I have a passion for making a difference in people by solving social problems through research, evaluation, and community engagement. Helping the less privileged is burnt into my DNA.
