Maintaining Momentum: Reflecting on 15 Years of Disability Workforce Development

For the past 15 years, Te Pou has played a pivotal role in advancing disability workforce development across Aotearoa New Zealand. As we move to a more focused role within the sector, we invite you to join us in reflecting on our journey, sharing the resources and knowledge we've developed, and ensuring the momentum we've built continues to support the disability workforce. This hui is an opportunity to:

  • Reflect on Our Journey: Review significant milestones and achievements from Te Pou’s 15 years of service.
  • Share Knowledge and Resources: Gain access to valuable tools, including the newly developed Equitable Access to Wellbeing (EAW) training materials.
  • Maintain Momentum: Engage with sector leaders and professionals in discussions on how the learning and resources can continue to influence and support the workforce.

Agenda Highlights:

Session 1: EAW Workforce Training Hand Over (2:30 to 3:30pm)
Overview of the newly developed "train the trainer" resources, followed by a Q&A session.

Session 2: Maintaining Momentum (3:30 to 5:30pm)

  • Karakia and opening remarks by key speakers.
  • A showcase of achievements and testimonials from sector professionals.
  • A panel discussion with sector leaders, followed by an open forum for sharing insights on how to maintain the momentum in disability workforce development.

Te Pou has always operated through a lens of equity, inclusion, and social justice. Our work has been co-developed with disabled people, whānau, and the disability workforce to ensure that the resources and knowledge we’ve created uphold the rights of disabled people in alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the UNCRPD, and the Enabling Good Lives principles.

As we prepare for this transition, we are committed to passing over the resources and knowledge that have been developed over the past 15 years to continue supporting the sector.

Please RSVP by 27 September by registering here. Once registered, you will receive further details, including the Zoom link for online participation.

We look forward to hosting you at this important event.
