Implementing Te Tau Tītoki

This year Te Pou o te Whakaaro Nui will be launching a series of workshops aimed at Individualised Funding (IF) employers and Disability Support Service (DSS) providers to implement Te Tau Tītoki.

The programme will be co-facilitated by autistic people alongside professionals with clinical expertise in autism and a pragmatic understanding of service delivery.

Comprising three face-to-face workshops, the Autism Leadership Series will:

  • move beyond basic knowledge of the autism spectrum
  • focus on understanding what wellbeing means for autistic people and how to plan and deliver services that are designed to enhance people’s quality of life
  • include coaching sessions to support workplace implementation.

As part of the programme, participants will be expected to:

  • develop a workplace action plan
  • present on how the changes have made an impact in the lives of the people they’re supporting.

Want to participate in the pilot?

The first pilot workshops will begin in the MidCentral region in August 2019.

Participant numbers will be limited to 12.
