FACT training for IPMHA health coaches and support workers

Funded professional development opportunity

Te Pou is pleased to announce a funded professional development opportunity for health coaches and support workers who are employed in an IPMHA-funded role in primary care.

Bruce Arroll delivers this FACT workshop. Bruce is a Primary Health Care Professor at the University of Auckland and a GP, practicing in South Auckland since 1991 and moving to the Auckland City Mission Calder Clinic in 2025. With a background in research, he is a noted author on patient care and offers special consultations using Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT) for clients who are feeling stuck in their lives by stress, pain or low energy. Bruce has a FACT website called www.brucearroll.com

This workshop is delivered via Zoom.

Course dates

There are two workshop opportunities, each delivered via Zoom.

  • Workshop 1 – Friday 28 February, 9am to 3pm THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL
  • Workshop 2 – Wednesday 9 April, 9am to 3pm THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL

Participants must be available for the full day without interruption, have access to their own device with reliable internet and have approval from their manager to attend.

Course content

  1. Using FACT in primary care
  2. FACT Tools: work / love / play questionnaire, behavioral activation, self-compassion, symptom distancing process, Bulls-eye
  3. Introduction to a new behavioral change process
  4. Suicidal thoughts and what to do next

The health coach or support worker’s manager or lead completes the registration form below (link below).

On receipt of the registration Te Pou will email the health coach/support worker requesting they complete and submit a form to complete the application process.
