Let’s get real is most effective when used consistently across people practices in an organisation. When leaders and teams are united in their commitment to Let’s get real it provides a shared understanding of the collective values, attitudes and skills required to work with people and whānau with mental health and addiction needs. This results in a more collaborative health workforce focused on taking action to improve the wellbeing of every person who accesses services.
There were some tensions. There were places where there had been some stuff going on and we were able to use the workshops to tease that out, bring it back to a values-based conversation and really get some resolutions.
— Dave Burnside, Learning & development lead, Odyssey (Auckland)
