We’re looking for casual support workers to join our team, supporting our 24-hour, 7 day a week services. Based in Nelson.

We’re looking for casual support workers to work in our Nelson services.
Casual roles provide cover for permanent Support Workers - the hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available, so we need people who can be flexible and available for varying shifts. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a mixture of morning shifts, afternoon shifts and awake night shifts. The hours vary slightly depending on the needs of each service. These roles will all report to their relevant Team Coach.
Here is an example of some of the shifts you may be asked to work:
- 7am to 3.30pm
- 1.30pm to 9pm
- 3.00pm to 11.30pm
- 11pm to 7.30am
As a casual support worker you will always have variety in your work. You will need to be prepared to do whatever it takes for the people we support - cleaning, cooking, gardening, personal care or helping out with everyday household tasks. On a given shift you might be supporting with budgeting and independent daily living skills, attending appointments and advocating for people, or you might be assisting people to connect with their communities.
- If you have a caring nature, work in a recovery focused way, are able to provide medication support and have impeccable attention to detail then we would love to hear from you.
- You must hold a current full New Zealand driver’s licence
- Do you hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
- You will either hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us. We offer our staff significant support to complete this study.
