Casual Youth Worker

​We provide health and wellbeing services working with local community supports to help taiohi aged 12 to 24 develop life skills and build strong connections, including their school, employer, whānau, and friends.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will be reporting to the Team Coach and working in a team of youth workers. This is a youth respite retreat available on an as-needed basis. Taiohi (young people) will stay in our home-like retreat for short periods while they are support by trained youth mental health and addiction workers.

You | Mōu

  • The New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be studying towards a recognised equivalent.
  • Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
