Charge Nurse Manager - Te Awakura

  • 1FTE, permanent position working Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4pm
  • Leadership role for an experienced registered nurse in Mental Health
  • Must either hold or have commenced the post graduate pathway with the focus on nursing
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with current APC and must have a mental health scope of practice
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Adherence to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi

Mō te tūnga - About the role

TeAwakura is a 64 bed adult acute inpatient unit that provides 24 hour care forconsumers with mental illness. Our model of care focuses on integratedmultidisciplinary teams, providing excellent care for consumers in the leastrestrictive manner. Consisting of four open 16 bed acute inpatient wards(North, East, South and West).

West inpatients services the West quadrant of the city. We are a close knit team and have agood relationship with our Outpatient Team. We have a strong emphasis onproviding high quality care, ensuring the consumer, family and whanau are atthe centre of all we do.

Pehea - About you

In this professional and clinical leadership role, you will effectively contribute to the ongoing development of excellent practice and the professional workforce within the service. The role has a function that is both clinical and operational, therefore you will have excellent clinical credibility as well as an ability to ensure the operational objectives are carried out in line with the CDHB vision.

  • With your proven ability to lead, you will be an expert at supporting the team to develop excellent skills to enable them to continue to deliver a high standard of care
  • As a positive role model, you will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills and have the ability to build successful relationships within the service
  • Working collaboratively with the MDT, Clinical Nurse Specialist, other Charge Nurse Manager's across the Adult Inpatient Group and the Senior Leadership team, you will strive to ensure the overall provision of quality care for service users
  • Must either hold or have commenced the post graduate pathway with the focus on nursing
  • Must be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have Mental Health Scope with a current APC
