Clinical Nurse Manager – Mental Health/Youth Justice (35-40hrs)

Rotorua Community Youth Centre Trust (RCYCT) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced health professional to fill our newly created Clinical Nurse Manager (Mental Health/Youth Justice) position which provides leadership and management for two of our innovative youth centric health services.

RCYCT is a not for profit organisation funded by the DHB, Government agencies and other organisations through contracts and grants. We are a dedicated Youth One Stop Shop with the vision that all ‘Rotorua youth reach their full potential’.

The Clinical Nurse Manager (MH/YJ) is a pivotal person in Rotorua Community Youth Centre Trust (RCYCT), as they are responsible for the Leadership and Management of the RCYCT Rangatahi Potential Primary Mental Health Service and the RCYCT Youth Health Service in Te Maioha o Parekarangi (Youth Justice Residence). There is approximately 6.5FTE across both teams.

The Clinical Nurse Manager (MH/YJ) provides clinical leadership for the delivery of high quality primary mental health care for the Rangatahi Potential Primary Mental Health Service; and high quality primary health care for the nurse led, Youth Health Service at Te Maioha o Parekarangi. This includes leading clinical governance activities; and clinical policies, systems and processes for these areas. The CNM (MH/YJ) will also provide back fill for the Senior Pou Rangatahi Practitioner (Senior Youth Mental Health Practitioner) and Team Leader (Youth Health Service in Te Maioha o Parekarangi) if required.

The Clinical Nurse Manager (MH/YJ) will work in partnership with our other Clinical Nurse Manager (Youth Health/School Health) to ensure that all clinical governance activities, clinical policies, systems and processes are in alignment across RCYCT.

Our successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a current NZ Annual Practicing Certificate. They will have proven experience in clinical leadership and experience in leadership and management of a clinical team. They will also have the ability to lead the development and updating of clinical policies, protocols and procedures, and clinical standards of practice in line with best practice.

It will be essential that you can lead by example, showing a high level of professionalism, sensitivity, respect and confidentiality.

It goes without saying that you will already have a strong knowledge of mental health and addictions; experience in primary mental health screening; mental state examination, delivery of evidence informed therapy, treatment services, and therapeutic interventions; and be experienced in providing mental health talk therapies (at a minimum).
