CADS Altered High Youth Service is a multi-disciplinary community alcohol and other drug (AOD) service providing information, support and counselling for young people aged 13 to 20 years and their family/whanau.
We are a flexible, youth-friendly and mobile team that sees young people where it suits them; at school, work, home or within the community. We are CEP-capable, providing integrated treatment for young people with co-existing mental health concerns and other difficulties.
To be successful in this role a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent) and NZ Registration is required. Experience in working with youth is preferred. The role will encompass some individual clinical work, however assessment and consultation for other team members particularly around co-existing mental health disorder in young people will be more important. Skills in training and supervision of psychological therapy and evaluation of existing and new programmes will also be integral to the position.
Under the APEX collective contract psychologists receive up to $2500 each per year for Continuing Professional Development which can be accumulated over two years to $5000. This offers the chance to attend overseas conferences or multiple workshops, plus books, and subscriptions each year.
