*** NEW ZEALAND REOPENS ITS BORDERS ***
Are you interested in an exciting challenge & a change of lifestyle at the same time?
Join our team in Golden Bay! Te Whare Mahana (TWM) is an independent charitable trust that provides a range of community-based mental health services as well as New Zealand's ONLY residential Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) programme. It is a unique and valuable organisation based in Takaka, Golden Bay. Golden Bay, in turn, is renowned for its strong and supportive community as well as its stunning location between the Abel Tasman & the Kahurangi National Park.
We seek a Clinical Psychologist with Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) expertise to join our friendly and supportive team within an adherent DBT residential programme (Adults) with emotional dysregulation.
Our residential facility caters for up to six clients. Therapists work regular workday hours (8:30 to 5 pm), but the facility is staffed by DBT Coaches 24/7. Treatment includes twice-weekly individual therapy sessions, multiple skills classes and crisis coaching, skills practice groups and 24/7 access to DBT coaches. As a therapist, you will be able to focus on providing in-depth, long-term therapy (9-15 months) with a maximum caseload of 2-3 clients at any time. Our residential programme is in a highly supportive environment. You, alongside our DBT Coaches and Support Workers, will provide treatment guidance to help clients create 'a life worth living'.
We need a locum for 6-12 months to take on 1-2 clients. However, the job is available for a permanent position, too.
Qualifications required: Registered Clinical Psychologist (0.8 FTE) with experience in CBT/DBT. Although DBT training and experience is strongly preferred, we will invest in DBT training. Registered with NZ Psychologists Board or be eligible for registration with NZPB and hold a valid practising certificate. Salary offered in relation to the professional experience.
Benefits include: Some flexibility in work schedule, paid professional/registration fees, annual training budget, relocation package and signing bonus negotiable.
