Clinical Psychologist - Central Region Eating Disorder Service

Contract: 0.6 fte permanent

The Central Region Eating Disorder Service (CREDS) is looking for a dynamic, energetic psychologist to join our unique multi-disciplinary team.

CREDS offers treatment and therapy services to individuals with eating disorders, as part of the Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAID) operated by the Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast District Health Boards. We provide a full range of specialist services to people with eating disorders in the greater Wellington area – from nutritional counseling, outpatient therapy and psycho-social education through to a 6-bed residential care facility and 7am-7pm Therapeutic Day Programme.

This exciting role will involve provision of clinical psychology assessment, intervention and treatment services to individuals (1:1 and groups) and their families.

Skills & experience

  • Registration with NZ Psychologist Board, with Clinical Scope of Practice and current annual practising certificate
  • Experience working with individuals with eating disorders and their families

About our Organisation

Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. CCDHB operates two hospitals – Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua – as well as the Kapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.

The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB’s and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region – greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
