He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

Are you a dynamic and experienced clinical leader passionate about making a real difference in the lives of individuals with forensic mental health issues? Emerge Aotearoa is expanding an existing service, and we are looking for a dedicated Service Manager to join our Forensic Community Residential Intensive Service for Recovery.

Duties of the role could include, but are not limited to:

  • Clinical Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the service to ensure optimal outcomes for our clients. Provide team leadership, coaching, and supervision to foster a high-performing team environment
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and District Managers to plan and deliver services that meet desired outcomes.
  • Team Support: Offer practical support, oversight, and coordination and lead a team up to 10 kaimahi, who deliver services to our clients
  • Client Support: Provide support to tangata whaiora (individuals seeking wellness) with complex forensic mental health needs, ensuring safe transitions from forensic inpatient services.
  • Clinical Consultation: Offer clinical consultation and advice to services/professionals, including GPs, clinical mental health teams, and other community organizations, to assist in managing tangata whaiora and navigating the Forensics Pathway under the Criminal Procedure (Mentally Impaired Persons) CP(MIP) Act 2003
  • Integration of Expertise: Combine your clinical expertise, knowledge, and competencies with Emerge Aotearoa's commitment to delivering high-quality services to our clients and their whānau (families)

He kōrero mōu | About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum Level 7) e.g. Bachelor's in Management, Social Services, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Addiction Studies, or equivalent commensurate experience
  • Current full registration with a professional body (Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, AOD Practitioner, Psychologist)
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in working with clients who have high and complex needs and a minimum of 3 years' experience of working in a mental health or social services sector
  • At least 2 years' leadership experience including managing people
  • Full New Zealand Driver's License
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
