Clinician

About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

We’re looking for a Registered Clinician (Occupational Therapist, Counsellor, Nurse, Social Worker, or Psychologist) to join our Rotorua Real service. If you are passionate about supporting taiohi (young people) to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing and would like to work with a great team, we want to hear from you.

There are two roles available, part-time and full-time. Please indicate in your cover letter which role you are interested in.

1.Full-time, 40 hours per week- Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm.

2.Part-time, 24 hours per week- Hours are negotiable for the right candidate (within Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm).

This role will involve supporting taiohi with primary mental health issues and complex social needs, and supporting them to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives. In this role you will also be working in close collaboration with the Lakes DHB.

Real Rotorua provide health and wellbeing services in the community to people aged between 12 and 20 who are experiencing issues related to their mental wellbeing. We believe in the importance of community, connection and relationships - and in the ability of young people to shape their own futures.

You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and working in a team of Clinicians and Youth Workers, delivering support to young people in school and community settings.

We are interested to hear from candidates who have a current health registration (Occupational Therapist, Counsellor, Nurse, Social Worker, or Psychologist.) We would expect the successful applicant to have significant knowledge of and relationships with local NGO and Iwi providers and advanced skills in working collaboratively with other providers to address complex needs.

You’ll be known for your caring, friendly and approachable manner and be passionate about your professional role and identity. You’ll have a non-judgmental approach to working within a diverse population. A real team player, you’ll be an excellent communicator and the sort of person who brings fun and laughter to your work environment. You’ll thrive in a supportive multi-disciplinary team environment where your skills and knowledge are valued and respected by your colleagues.

You will have:

  • A current New Zealand full driver’s licence
  • A current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • A HPCAA recognised qualification and current practicing certificate

The Covid-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 requires staff working in health-related services to be fully vaccinated (this includes any subsequent boosters). As a provider we are responsible for ensuring all of our employees are vaccinated as per the mandate and employees are responsible for ensuring we have access to their information.
