The details: Fixed term to cover parental leave through until 10 August 2021.
80 hours per fortnight – Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. There is overtime available.

About the service:
The mental health and addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. About the role:
Crisis Assessment and Home Treatment (CAHT) provides mental health assessment for individuals who present in mental health crisis and support the individual to access the appropriate care pathway.  These pathways include referral back to primary services, short term crisis team care, home treatment, admission to community based alternative acute care options or inpatient services.CAHT liaise with a wide range of stakeholders internal and external to Waikato DHB including Police, primary services, NGOs and other DHBs.

Responsibilities of the role:
This position involves working primarily with clients on the crisis short term care pathway.

Required skills & experience:
Ideally you will be an experienced mental health professional with excellent knowledge and skills in assessing client needs, managing risk, prioritising care and advocating for service users experiencing mental health difficulties to achieve their optimal mental wellbeing and recovery.
You will need to be able to work under pressure and in a range of settings and have a high standard of communication.
 
Applicants must have registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council, hold a current annual practicing certificate and a current full clean drivers license.
