DBT Clinician (Psychologist/Psychotherapist) - 0.6-0.8 FTE, hours negotiable

The role focuses on delivering varied interventions for 2-3 clients who are making BIG life changes within the 12-month residential programme.

You will be working with clients with complex histories & multiple mental-health diagnoses within an evidence-based model.

We offer high-quality Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) TRAINING and special clinical topics (e.g. DBT-PTSD, EMDR).

Te Whare Mahana offers New Zealand’s ONLY residential Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) programme for adults. Situated in Takaka, Golden Bay, this internationally renowned programme treats clients who frequently experience high levels of distress and who have had little success with hospital and community treatments. Often, our clients have a diagnosis of PTSD/CPTSD as part of their complex presentations.

TWM’s National DBT Service offers DBT for PTSD (Bohus) as its overarching framework. In addition to this, the service is in the process of integrating EMDR Intensive Trauma Treatment blocks into treatment. Our therapists work within a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of high-quality evidence-based clinical treatment.

Qualifications required: Qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist/Psychiatrist/Psychotherapist. You are registered with the appropriate NZ Board and hold a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
