Are you the healthy lifestyle advocate we are looking for? Someone who is passionate about supporting people on their recovery journeys? If so, then keep reading.
This position is 40 hours per week; working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm
As a Healthy Lifestyle Coordinator, you will be kept busy supporting people experiencing mental illness with their individual recovery and wellbeing plan by providing activities-based support. This will include developing and facilitating access to a range of activities across different Pathway services focused on a healthy lifestyle e.g. fitness, nutrition, health and social activities. You’d be responsible of delivering local initiatives to support the Pathways Healthy Lifestyle national calendar. The responsibility will also include, actively seeking community resources for employees and people using Pathways’ services. And, also you’ll develop education/resource packages that reflect health, leisure and recreation approaches and interventions.

You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways Community Health and Well Being Team. You will work alongside a Registered Health Professional and other support workers within the team. The main focus of the team is to promote health and wellbeing through promotion of healthy living and engagement in everyday activity.
You will be working alongside Pathways Support Workers and Team Coaches across our services - all who have a common purpose to support people experiencing mental illness to improve their health and wellbeing.
We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature, are passionate about helping people on their recovery journeys and have a passion for improving their overall health.
Applicants must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. Alternatively, you will commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for support workers to complete this study.
You will also:
- Hold a Current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
- You must hold a current full driver’s licence
- You will have knowledge of health and wellbeing programmes and how to develop and implement these
- You’’ have the ability to present, facilitate large groups and develop and run programmes based on health and wellbeing
- You will have experience in organizing and facilitating activities and or events
- You’ll be a fresh thinker, using curiosity and imagination to generate new ideas
- You’ll be a great listener, the sort of person who will listen deeply to the people who use our services
- You’ll be energising, inspiring others with enthusiasm and a will be working well in a team
- You will role model recovery focused approaches
The Covid-19 Public Health (Vaccination) Order requires the full vaccination of anyone conducting high-risk work in the health and disability sector, or who does not necessarily provide a health service but works in a role that requires frequent contact/engagement with those who do. Therefore, all workers within the Wise Group are required by the Order to be vaccinated.
