We’d love to hear from experienced applicants who are passionate about working with the most vulnerable members of our communities to provide access to safe, affordable accommodation and link them to the health and social services they need to live well.
LinkPeople recognises that housing and homelessness are complex issues that require a community wide approach, where key organisations’ come together to work collaboratively to support people to access and retain housing. Having a home and successfully navigating social services are both critical success factors in delivering positive health and social outcomes.
40 hour per week role, working Monday to Friday 8.30am- 5.00pm from our Thorndon office across greater Wellington.
Joining a highly skilled and passionate team that shares a strong sense of social justice, you’ll work in partnership with other agencies, who are working in the housing and health space, to support people into a permanent home. Your priority will be to work alongside people with housing needs who require your support to housing stability.
This will involve managing the complexity associated with working with people with high and complex needs, often living with intergenerational challenges, mental health, addiction and trauma issues. You’ll work within a housing first philosophy while also ensuring we meet the outcome and expectations of our stakeholders and partners.
We’d love to hear from applicants with a range of experience in the mental health and social sectors especially those who have worked to house and keep people housed!
A confident communicator and relationship builder, you’ll quickly build credibility while showcasing your sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Your ability to work at pace and flourish under pressure will be complemented by excellent attention to detail and proficiency in record keeping.
You’ll also have:
- Knowledge of and demonstrate utmost commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi principles and working with Maori
- A full New Zealand full driver’s license
- We would prefer you to hold the New Zealand Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be prepared to undertake this within 6 months of starting, and complete it within 2 years of commencement. LinkPeople offers significant support for Housing Case Workers to complete this study.
