Waiora Hinengaro (Mental Health and Addiction Services) has an exciting team that are doing things differently. He Puna Ora provides a service using kaupapa Māori approaches for engagement, healing supporting learning and connections grounded in mātauranga and pūrakau.
The purpose of this service is to provide an intensive outreach coordination service for hapū māmā and whānau of tamariki up to 3 years of age who are experiencing problems with alcohol and other drugs and are poorly connected to health and social services.
Service provision will be through wānanga and case work so experience in mental health and/or addiction mahi is required. The position needs proficiency in te reo and in mātauranga Māori, a strong commitment and understanding of Whānau Ora is also a requirement for this role along with the confidence and creativity to facilitate hui and wānanga.
You will work Monday to Friday in a team environment. A full drivers licence and ability to pass a police check is also needed. Minimal mahi will be outside the normal hours of work.
You will need a registration with a professional body covered by the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 Act or Social Workers Registration Act 2019 or Dapaanz along side a current Annual Practicing Certificate/ registration from your professions board.
