About the role

Kennedy Unit is a six-bed inpatient unit providing specialist medical withdrawal management and stabilisation for those affected by alcohol and drug misuse.

We are offering a permanent part-time opportunity for an engaged and motivated Registered Nurse, who is wanting to experience a rewarding and challenging career in the alcohol and drug field. We want you to join with us and work collaboratively with a consumer centered approach to join us and add value, expertise and energy to our stable and cohesive team.

Your exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and a commitment to quality patient care and education will see you build successful relationships with consumers and their families/whanau, which will be key to your success in this role and enable you to achieve optimum outcomes.

Working: permanent, part-time

Skills and experience

Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously
Excellent interpersonal skills, support and empathy for your clients
Ability to build, strong effective relationships with clients and with our many community partners/agencies with whom you liaise
You will be reliable and conscientious and have a genuine interest in this exciting specialty
