Mana Taurite Campaign Communications Advisor

Mana Taurite plays a critical role in telling our story and the story of our Māori Partner Call Centres to external stakeholders. The Advisor will support internal and external communications supporting the values and branding of Whakarongorau Aotearoa with a specific focus on the COVID vaccination service and partnership with our Māori partner contact centres

About the role - Atu mo te mahi

The Communications Advisor - Mana Taurite creates quality content to tell our stories to be used in campaigns to guide Māori to our services, whilst maintaining relationships with our Māori partner call centres, with a particular focus on the COVID vaccination service.

You will perform the following duties:

  • Work with the Campaign Communications Lead to create communications and marketing content for our Māori Partner contact centres
  • Promote evidence-based approaches, activities, information, and resources that support Māori
  • Manage communications advice to partner contact centres and service user experience team
  • Embedding our values and brand by delivering communications campaigns to guide whanau through the virtual door
  • Optimise print, social media and blog campaigns to generate employee and service user interaction and brand exposure in relation to our COVID vaccination service
  • Escalate social media risk relating to the COVID Vaccination service within scope

About you - Pehea koe

Qualifications and experience:

  • Preferably holds relevant tertiary qualification not essential
  • At least two years' experience in communication and/or community engagement position
  • Ideally health sector or NGO experience
  • Ideally expertise in Te Whare Tapa Whā (Māori model of health)
  • Ideally can speak Te Re Māori

Skills and competence:

  • Sound knowledge, understanding and application of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with Māori and non-Māori and advise on equity focused approaches
  • Knowledgeable of health inequalities and priority populations
  • Exceptional strategic, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage well with others and positively influence outcomes
  • A strong understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Results driven and committed to excellence

We do this 24 hours a day, seven days a week across seven digital channels. We manage inbound and outbound call centres in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as well as remote teams working from their homes across the country.
