Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of Pacific communities?

Do you have experience in mental health and addictions and want to create a positive impact for individuals and families?

Then this opportunity will be for you. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Counsellor and Health Promoter to join our Wellington team.

At Mapu Maia we provide an effective and culturally appropriate addiction service to our Pacific communities in the Wellington region. Our integrated public health and clinical service currently provides support to Pacific families and community agencies in Auckland, Wellington, and the Christchurch region.

The successful candidate will provide a holistic service to assist individuals and families in reaching their goals. In addition, you will be working alongside community groups, social services, and government agencies to build collaborative relationships and raise awareness of gambling harm in the community.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, and a good level of computer literacy is needed. A strong commitment to the team and a sense of humour is essential.

Experience in working with Pacific communities and fluency in a Pacific Island language is highly desirable.

This role is for 40 hours per week and is based in our Wellington central office.

This is an exciting and challenging position offering both personal development and an opportunity to make a real difference in our priority communities.
