Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician

Odysseys Te Wairua (co-existing disorders) service provides comprehensive clinical assistance using a modified “Therapeutic Community” approach and works in partnership with people living with mental health challenges, alcohol and drug dependency.

We are currently seeking a Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician to join our residential team based in Kamo, Whangarei. The available role is rostered from Sunday to Thursday working the following hours:

Sunday 7.45am – 3.45pm

Monday 7.45am – 3.45pm

Tuesday 7.45am – 3.45pm

Wednesday 7.45am – 3.45pm

Thursday 1.00pm – 9.00pm

Our ideal candidates will have:

· Up to 1 years’ experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social-services, addictions and/or mental health setting

· Relevant Level 7 qualification e.g. in health science, social work, counselling or mental health

· An interest in working towards registration as an AOD Practitioner

· A willingness to learn about and embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model

· Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural norms

· Some skills in group and individual therapy

· Great communication and relationship management skills

· A full, clean NZ drivers license
