Mental Health Assistant - Bureau

Where you’ll be working: Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre – Waikato Hospital – Mental Health Bureau

The details: Permanent – full and part time hours - rostered and casual hours - We also have some roles that are mainly nightshift

About the role:

As a mental health assistant in the staff bureau you will work within a team based model of care under the direction of a registered nurse. The work is varied and challenging and you will be working with consumers of all ages.

Required skills & experience:

We are looking for experienced people to join the mental health staff bureau working as psychiatric assistants preferably with a support worker mental health certificate.

You must have recent experience in health care services, preferably mental health and be prepared to complete the support worker certificate in mental health.

You need a high level of availability to work, i.e. be available to work all rostered duties, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

You must be readily contactable and have your own means of transport.
