We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to become part of our inpatient team.
About the service:
The mental health and addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking a huge programme of change to deliver better outcomes to tāngata whai ora and whānau in our region. Nga iwi Ngakaunui - people at the heart is demonstrated best in mental health and addictions, people really are at the heart of all that we do. We know how important strong relationships are; with people who access our services, with their whānau and with the communities we serve.
About the role:
This area of work can be both demanding and very rewarding. Your role would include working alongside a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with our tāngata whai ora to provide support in their forensic rehab journey.
Mental Health and Addictions services strategic vision is to improve the health, independence and quality of life for consumers who experience a mental illness. The philosophy that underpins this is one of hope, compassion and use of therapeutic self to support the consumer through their journey towards recovery.

Required skills & experience:
• Good communication skills
• Support worker mental health certificate preferred
• Experience in health care services
• Current NZ drivers licence
• Ability to work within a supportive team
