About the team
The Southern District Health Board Youth Specialty Service’s (YSS) is a specialised out-patient service providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for young persons in the Otago area. Attached is a service called Rapio which is a day programme providing assessment and treatment for youth requiring support to return to main stream schooling.
About the Role / About you
In managing your own caseload you will have a sound knowledge of appropriate youth focussed mental health interventions and provide specialised assessment and treatment, with a strong emphasis on family inclusion and family therapy for youth (14-19 years), experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
You bring to this role flexibility and commitment to delivering excellence to youth and their family in an age appropriate and culturally appropriate manner, liaise effectively in partnership with community agencies to support the youth’s health and wellbeing. We provide good orientation to the position and will support your ongoing professional development needs.
If you enjoy working as an integral member of a youth focussed multidisciplinary team and have experience working with youth and their family, you shouldn’t let this opportunity pass you by.
To be considered for this position you must have relevant mental health experience and hold current registration and an annual practising certificate as either a Registered Nurse or an Allied Health Professional (Social Worker or Occupational Therapist).
