Odyssey supports people to change their lives through the delivery of high quality, comprehensive community and residential services for people experiencing mental health issues and/or an addiction to alcohol, other’s drugs or gambling.
Our Te Wairua (co-existing disorders) programme in Northland conducts a unique modified residential based Therapeutic Community. We are now seeking a skilled and caring part time (38 hours per week) Night Support Worker to join our team.
This position primarily involves working overnight, doing regular checks of the premises, supporting residents with concerns, completing administrative tasks and requires the successful applicant to be awake during their shift.
You will be required to work 3 nights per week and one evening shift. The working hours for this role are:
Wednesday: 10.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m.
Thursday: 10.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m.
Friday: 10.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m.
Sunday: 2.15 p.m. to 10.15 p.m.
The ideal applicants will have:
• A level 4 certificate in health or a related field
· A willingness to embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model
• Excellent communication skills
· Previous overnight working experience
• Experience working in the AOD/mental health field
• Commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
• Proven reliability
• The ability to work autonomously
• A full, clean driver’s licence
