Nurse Educator Mental Health and Addiction Crisis Support

We're offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced delegated Senior Nursing role to join our Mental Health and Addiction Service based at the Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

The Nurse Educator will support the building capability and confidence of front-line staff working in the Emergency Department (ED) and other locations i.e. urgent care, for staff to respond assertively to individuals presenting with mental health crisis events.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working to support the professional development of clinical, non-clinical and administration staff who interact with individuals (and their whānau or support people) presenting with mental health needs or in distress.

We work with a diverse population with a variety of mental health needs and we are a service that is continuously developing. If you are passionate about mental health, open to new challenges and willing to try new initiatives to improve a person's journey through our service, then we want you to join our intensive team in Hawke's Bay.

Our ideal candidate will be able to work flexibly and collaboratively with a range of professionals. You will need to have strong communication skills and an ability to work autonomously and within the wider team. A mature, confident and empathetic outlook is essential for the role.

A level of physical fitness and resilience is required for this position as well as the someone who shares our values of He kauanuanu - Respect, Ākina - Improvement, Rāranga te tira - Partnership and Tauwhiro - Care.
