We are requiring an Occupational Therapist for our Mental Health Services for Older people In- Patient unit at Tauranga Hospital. This is a full-time, fixed term position for 1 year to cover parental leave.
We are seeking an enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills and an interest in working with older people. The successful applicant will be expected to have a good understanding of mental health conditions and the ageing related illness.
This varied role will involve completing functional, cognitive, and sensory assessments, developing the activity programme with the Occupational Therapy Assistant, running community group programs, and completing one to one treatment.
The Occupational Therapist will work within the Mental Health Recovery principles and person-centred care model to enhance the quality of life.
To be considered for this role you will need to be registered with the New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board with minimum 2 years’ experience, hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate and a full, clean driver licence.
