We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to become part of our inpatient team.
About the service:
The mental health and addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking a huge programme of change to deliver better outcomes to tāngata whai ora and whānau in our region. About the role:
This area of work can be both demanding and very rewarding.
Your role would include working alongside a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with our tāngata whai ora to provide support in their forensic rehab journey. Mental Health and Addictions services strategic vision is to improve the health, independence and quality of life for consumers who experience a mental illness. The philosophy that underpins this is one of hope, compassion and use of therapeutic self to support the consumer through their journey towards recovery.

Required skills & experience:
• Exhibit a person centred approach
• Have a passion for working in mental health and addictions
• Be innovative and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Well-developed time management skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritise tasks
• Be able to contribute to care planning with confidence in the delivery of OT assessments and interventions
• Demonstrates strong clinical skills and strength in organisation and communication
• Strong group facilitation skills
• Hold a current drivers licence
• Hold a current annual practicing certificate.
