Peer Support Specialist

E Ara E is an innovative new service, which seeks to empower young people / rangatahi experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges, to take their next step into training or work.

We are currently seeking to employ a capable Peer Support Specialist to join our team of dedicated clinical, employment and peer support specialists, based in New Lynn, West Auckland. Your role is to walk alongside rangatahi (18-24 years of age) and support them in making progress towards their chosen work or study pathways.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 1+ years relevant experience working in a social services, health, addictions or mental health care setting (preferably in a peer role)
  • Lived experience of alcohol, drug use and/or mental health challenges
  • An interest in working with rangatahi
  • An understanding of and interest in Odyssey’s work
  • Full current New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Health sector approved peer training and a relevant (L4/5) qualification is preferred, or a demonstrated willingness to undertake further training and/or study with organisational support

In return, we offer:

  • A salary between $55,910 and $63,564 depending on qualifications and experience
