  • Lead a team supporting people accessing services to improve their mental health outcomes

We are looking for someone who is passionate about inspiring a team to be their best. Someone who is keen to join a leadership team delivering a range of mental health services across Canterbury and have experience of primary wellbeing benefits for people. Are you that person?

Who are we:

We're a values based organisation, and it guides everything we do. We're all about transforming mental health and addictions through our Pathways and Real services (Adult and Youth services), in fact, we've been doing it for 30 years and each year support around 6000 people. We believe in hope and respect, personalised support, strengths and resilience, and recovery. We also believe primary health is an important component in assisting people with their health and wellbeing.

The role

We require a Team Coach who is a Registered Nurse to lead Primary Health initiatives for our Canterbury Pathways services. This lead will also be the go-to person and lead a dedicated team of Support Workers and Health Coaches in our Pathways Te Tuma Waiora service in Christchurch. Reporting to the Service and Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the development of Primary Health initiatives across our Canterbury services and leading a team of Support Workers and Health Coaches working within Canterbury's Te Tumu Wai Ora access and choice primary wellbeing services provided in GP practices. You'll be passionate about making a real difference in people's lives, appreciate the benefits of networking with other agencies to ensure that the services we provide can be their best and be looking for a role that is truly rewarding. If you are excited by this opportunity, then keep reading.

You will be working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm in Christchurch, with an after-hours on-call requirement based on a rotational roster shared with approximately 15 others.

You'll thrive in the role because you genuinely enjoy seeing your team grow and bringing out the best in them, so they can be at their best. You'll be skilled in mentoring, coaching and inspiring others, and when others describe you they say you're optimistic, energizing and use you innovative and imagination to look for improvements so our service is the best it can be. You'll be an incredible blend of both compassion and passion.

About you

We've mentioned we'd like you to be an experienced leader, but you'll also need to be a Registered Nurse. It's essential that you be able to work within mental health, and previous experience in this field or wider health and social sectors would be a bonus! So if you have a New Zealand registration as a Nurse (with scope to work in mental health) with experience with DHBs, PHOs, and the wider community and social sector, then we encourage you to apply.

You'll need to have a:

  • Current full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Current first aid certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Tertiary qualification in health, management, or a related discipline
  • Current New Zealand registration as a Nurse (with scope to work in mental health),
