Psychologist/Psychotherapist - CLINICAL LEAD (0.8 FTE) - Takaka, Golden Bay (Top of the South)

Te Whare Mahana offers New Zealand’s ONLY residential Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) programme for adults. Situated in Takaka, Golden Bay, this internationally renowned programme is for people experiencing frequent high levels of distress and trauma and have had little success with hospital and community treatments.

The Clinical Lead will guide a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of high-quality clinical service in evidence-based treatment of clients and ensure the quality of clinical services offered by the programme. This role requires proven and effective clinical and leadership skills and competence in delivering trauma exposure therapy to clients who score high on dissociation and have dual diagnosis.

You will have the skills to guide the clinical team in preparing clients for exposure therapy and support the team in upskilling their capacity to provide it themselves. If not already proficient, You will be willing to familiarise yourself with standard DBT and Bohus DBT-PTSD skills training.

Qualifications required: Qualified Psychologist/Psychotherapist. Registered or eligible to register with the New Zealand Psychologists Board (NZPB) or The Psychotherapists Board (PBANZ) and hold a valid annual practising certificate. EMDR practitioner.
