Registered and Enrolled Nurses - Te Whare Manaaki

  • Permanent and fixed-term positions available
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope of practice

The Team: What we do

Te Whare Manaaki is a Secure Forensic Unit. The unit is mixed and our staffing reflects this with the agreed gender ratio. The Forensic Service is a fulfilling and dynamic environment with opportunities to further your knowledge and expertise.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for four professional and highly motivated Registered Nurses to join us for full time fixed term and a permanent basis. Add your expertise and enthusiasm to an energetic, dynamic and innovative multi-disciplinary team, case managing individuals to discover and develop their strengths towards optimum health and potential placement into a residential setting.

We pride ourselves on working as a team in collaboration and partnership with consumers and family/whanau. We strive to work within our philosophy to develop therapeutic, supportive and empowering relationships with consumers, to enable them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

  • Previous mental health experience is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • A current NZ driving licence
  • The positions are based on a roster thus flexibility across all shifts (morning, afternoon, and night) is imperative - the shifts follow a four days on, two days off roster pattern (for a full-time position
  • A comprehensive staff orientation package is provide

If you have a current NZ Registered Nursing practising certificate that includes a scope of practice for Mental Health, then this could be the new career challenge for you.

There are 0.94 FTE permanent and fixed-term positions available. There could be some flexibility to consider part time as well, but this will be on a case-by-case basis.
