Registered Comprehensive Nurse

Location: Regional Rangatahi inpatient service, Kenepuru Campus

Contract: Full and Part time, permanent Registered Nurse, rostered and rotating shifts.

Salary: Dependent on Experience and collective agreement.


This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Comprehensive Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team at the Regional Rangatahi inpatient Service (RRAIS), based at Kenepuru campus.

The Rangatahi Unit is a 12 bedded mental health acute unit that provides a service for adolescents who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness.

RRAIS is one of three adolescent inpatient services in New Zealand. It is a regional service for the lower North Island providing for adolescents from the Wellington region up to and including Gisborne.

We are a dynamic and enthusiastic team with a passion for providing specialist assessment and treatment to, Rangatahi and their Whanau aged 13 to 17 years inclusive.

We provide a Therapeutic Day Programme which designed to meet the needs of the Rangatahi experiencing an acute episode of mental illness. Our service is Whanau focused and Whanau will be included in all aspects of treatment where appropriate.

We are a dynamic and enthusiastic team with a passion for providing specialist assessment and treatment to rangatahi and their Whanau when there is a mental health concern. You will fit into a strong team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines. If you have lots of energy and willingness to walk alongside and support our rangatahi to return to a level of functioning through taking part in the day programme, go on therapeutic outings outing and assist with day to day tasks then we would be keen to hear from you.

Moū – About you

You will hold a relevant nursing qualification.

The ideal applicant will have experience in the child and adolescent mental health sector and a proven ability of working with a multi-disciplinary team.

Have ability to think on your feet, ability to carry out a risk assessment, excellent written and verbal communication and willingness to come learn and work as part of a team.
