We’re looking for a Registered Nurses to join our service which provides the people of Christchurch with an alternative to a hospital admission when they are experiencing acute mental distress.
Te Ao Mārama, Pathways’ new peer-led acute alternative service is an innovative service at the forefront of modern mental health care. It offers a warm and welcoming home-like environment where people can be guided and supported in their recovery.
About the role
We are looking for a Registered Nurses to join Pathways Peer Led Acute Alternative Service in Christchurch.
The role is 32 hours per week 3.00pm- 11.30pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
As a Registered Nurse working in our peer-led acute alternative service, you’ll need to have scope of practice to work in mental health.
You will be supporting people who are experiencing mental illness with clinical mental health support.
You’ll help identify and meet their individual health and social care needs and support them to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives. You will conduct physical assessments and support people with goal planning.
You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach of Te Ao Mārama and working in a team of 23, all with a common purpose to support people experiencing mental illness.
You’ll be passionate about implementing innovative ideas and solutions and providing exceptional clinical support. And, you will have the ability to support and inspire a team.
· Be a New Zealand registered and experienced Nurse with comprehensive and/or psychiatric scope, and the ability to work within the field of mental health.
· Ideally have knowledge of the Canterbury Health and Social Services sectors, and experience working in an acute mental health setting.
· Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence
